Motivational books you should read to kickstart your 2021
Motivation could be found anywhere, yet it is the most difficult thing to find. Waking up in the morning, without having the energy to do anything and wanting to stay in bed all day. Especially with all the blues 2020 has left us with. I get it. We have all been there.
But as December starts coming to an end and the smell of a new year starts lingering around in the air, we all get this abrupt urge of motivation to do things. Only find it hard to finish them. Well, not to worry because we are going to tell you today how to keep that motivation going. Below is a list of five books you should read to boost that motivation level and get things done.
#1 Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long Happy Life by Hector Garcia & Francesc Miralles
“The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.”
There are some things in life we already know but just need to be reminded of. Everyone wants to live a meaningful life. Ikigai will help you to understand how to stay happy even when you are busy and engaged. Putting you on the journey of self-discovery, the book will help you flow, the same way it does when you read it
#2 Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
“It’s a simple and generous rule of life that whatever you practice, you will improve at.”
If you have read “Eat, Pray, Love” by Gilbert, you must be aware of how well her writing is. Well, Big Magic is no “Eat, Pray, Love” but if you wish to rap into your creativity and live life to the fullest, without any fear rather filled with curiosity then you should grab a copy for yourself today only. Broken into six segments, Gilbert takes you on a journey and somehow contrives to answer almost all of life’s questions.
#3 Dare to Lead by Brené Brown
“We fail the minute we let someone else define success for us.”
Some may know Brown from her renowned TED talks. Don’t get confused by the title. The book touches on some significant emotions. What I learned the most from this one is that to be where you want to be, you need to acknowledge the core emotions and not let them astray you from being real.
#4 Switch: How to change things when change is hard by Chip Heath and Dan Heath
“And that’s the first surprise about change: What looks like a people problem is often a situation problem.”
We all fear change, even though it is the only constant. Without any transformation, you don’t grow. This book clears and answers a lot of questions that go on in our minds when things around and within us are changing. Dealing with the rational and the emotional part of us, this book is a must-read before this year ends because we all could use a little change now.
I wouldn’t say these are the best motivational books out there, but these ought to be on your bookshelf.
Happy reading and stay motivated!
